Marco Zamora's Urban Landscapes

Marco Zamora, Californian artist who takes street life and transfers it into his artwork. He sees urban environments and lifestyles and creates the imagery to go along with it. He's this good because he was in the CIA (California Institute of Art - did I get you there? even for a second?), and ever since his graduation in 2004 he's been graphic designing by day and painting by night. His backgrounds seem proportionately disproportionate - if that makes any kind of metaphorical sense. There's a sense of a more profound message mixed into the reality of each painting, especially with the contrasting yet complementary combination of textures, colors and applications. Creative!

It gives you wiiings!

Remember these Jeremy Scott x Adidas wings high-tops?

They now come in a summer-ier, more feminine version! (and I NEED THEM!!!)
Thank you Matt Bernson - maybe he was inspired by Hermes (messenger to the gods, not the brand...)?

P.S. These Catherine Malandrino boots ain't too shabby, either.

Magdalena Frackowiack x Vogue Germany

This is the ethereal spread shot by Horst Diekgerdes for Vogue Germany May 2010. The colors in this are amazing - deep contrasting blues and neutrals make for some beautiful maritime-inspired shots. I'm loving the Miu Miu collar, the side braid and the cut out jean jacket in this, too!

Jørund Aase Falkenberg

Jorund Aase Falkenberg is a Norwegian artist who really caught my eye. Or, well, I guess the lack of work within the work caught my eye - it's like a someone came in the middle of the night and stole the Pollock-inspired cavases!

Leather Leggings

Rag&Bone Moto Legging

I've been wanting some for a while now, but just can't seem tot find the right pair that isn't too pricey and doesn't look too pleather. It's hard!

They're so rugged and somehow comfortably feminine.

Le Printemps

A sneak peak into the near-future visuals being created for Le Printemps Haussmann in Paris.

PINK! It's my favorite color - not because it's girly but because I think it's easy on the eyes and happy on the the heart! Corny!

No, really though... the color makes me happy, and so do the neon lights and designer names. I'm excited to see what this will all turn out to be!

Einstein's Last Day

Einstein's office the day he died - April 18th, 1955. These are the only photos of that day, and after so many years, they are finally being released via LIFE.

Organized clutter makes for one hell of a genius? I guess so!

Khuong Nguyen x Christian Louboutin

These are some of the promo pictures for the new Christian Louboutin collection by Khuong Nguyen. They all relate back to different fairy tales you might recognize from your childhood. I think the whole campaign is wonderfully creative and ties very well into the reiteration of fairy tales we've been seeing lately (thank you, Tim Burton). The concept of fantasy is far from unapparent in this series - I love the realistic elements used in correlation with (forgive my literary device-isms) strong symbolism and even phantasmagoria. I also think it all follows Christian Louboutin as a brand as well - the famous photo of him levitating the shoe between him palms certainly evokes similar fantastic elements.

Love!
