Lacoste x Li Xiaofeng

Li Xiaofeng, Chinese artist extraordinaire, created these versions of the Lacoste favorites (among others) using porcelain. They are currently at Paris' Musee des Arts et des Metiers, a museum in Paris that houses a collection of quite striking peices including Foucault's pundulum. Although they probably aren't the most comfortable, Xiaofeng's polos are certainly appropriate for an art collection of the aforementioned sort. Creative!

Inked

Ink Study 1 from brainflakes on Vimeo - incredibly hypnotizing - set to "Subtle Body" by Fila Brazillia and shot with a Panasonic GH1. DOPE!

Disco Chair!

The Disco Chair is the brain child of London's own Kiwi & Pom and can be set at both continuous and strobe light settings. I don't think there's much to say regarding the awesomeness of this piece. Turn on the bright furniture, play a little Haddaway and dance the night away. Sweet!

Skypark

This is the Marina Bay Sands Skypark in Singapore. It is insane! Tremendous heights complete with an incredible pool and gorgeous views. The rooftop alone is 380 meters long, spanning across three skyscrapers. The complex was designed by architect Moshe Safdie and cost about 80 million to construct. Think about this: it takes 20 minutes minimum to walk across the entire structure and it can hold up to 3 900 people at once. Amazing!

My Phone Is Off For You

What a great concept. A handkerchief that blocks signals to your phone so that you don't ruin your diner dates. I've always been a fan of the ever so modern cellular telephone, but when it comes to social situations (especially one-on-ones), I've always felt the utmost respect for those who were able to control their phone addictions. The handkerchief is part of the My Phone Is Off For You revolution, check out the website HERE.

Plastikman

Plastikman (Richie Hawtin) has created some very uniquely and technologically advanced new visuals for his performance at Weloveart. It's mostly perfectly in tune with the music, emphasizing the bass, but what i find most intriguing is the orb-like case of sound in which he has enveloped himself. Looks like a great show.

Minimalism by Pedro Vidotto

How sweet are these? Minimalist movie posters by Pedro Vidotto; my favorite is the Fight Club version - so simple and yet somehow innovative in that simplicity. Sweet!

Sebastian Szwajczak

Some sweet pics and even sweeter hater-blockers photographed by Sebastian Szwajczak. I checked out his website and some of the other photo-shoots are particularly incredible. Motion, trend and fluidity all in one. Love!

Song of the day: The XX - Islands (Nosaj Thing Remix) (was this already the SOTD once? I can't remember, but I sure do love it!)

Dragon 76

Here's a short video by Junobo (yes, the paint supply store) for Dragon 76/Japan. He was born in Shiga, Japan, and currently lives in Yokohama. This video is a presentation of his artistic and creative style, which I admire most profoundly. Soft, delicate and precisely placed waves of color combined with thicker, underlying masses for a base create a wonderful palette of textures and depth. Wonderful!

Baby I'm Yours

This is the incredible video for "Baby I'm Yours (feat. Irfane)" by Breakbot, produced by Ed Banger Records, one of my all-time favorite labels. Apparently (a.k.a. according to the great Busy P a.k.a Pedro Winter a.k.a owner of Ed Banger Records) it took artist Irina Dakeva four months and approximately 2000 images water color painted one after the other to create the video. DOPE!
