Mia Pearlman created the Inrush sculptures, featured at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York using paper and genius. They're quite beautiful to look at and have a sort of otherworldly air to them. The precision of the cutting on these pieces is striking to say the least!
Givenchy's Fall 2010 collection, the phenomenal creation of Riccardo Tisci is beautifully ornate and somehow reminiscent of McQueen's last collection with the gold hues and lavish materials. The details on each piece is incredibly remarkable and shows extreme craftsmanship - beading, feathering, lacing - each adornment is striking to say the least. There's a sense of the ethereal in this collection as well as a hidden touch of the diabolical (look closely and you'll find skeletal shapes). Gorgeous!
Lee's new packaging for their skinny jeans. Funky, telling and innovative. Now when you're walking along with your skinny cardboard box, people will know exactly what you just purchased (a trendy, fashion forward item) and from where (the innovative Lee, of course!) Public Relations smart and savvy!
Evelina Mambetova's "Playing Fashion" editorial for the July/August 2010 issue, styled by David Widjaja and shot by Ryan Yoon. Neutrals paired with pops of color and lots of textures featuring fur and wool make for a shoot that I find to be intriguing - for some reason I think of Peruvian alpacas when I see these photos. There's a very organic and raw quality to the color of these photos, with just some small touches of modernity, which I love.
