ARMOR

Ok, seriously though, I need one of everything! This is Armor - chain art for the body. First off, the name is bad-ass - I mean, come on! Armor? It sounds awesome even if you have no idea what it is! It's made by Sandee Shin and is described as "an arsenal of high fashion jewelry that dances between understated minimalism and the highly conceptual edge of fashion." Well, it's dancing alright! Dancing right into my heart! ha!
Love!

Dion Lee

Yes, I totally stole these pictures from Jak & Jil. However, the collection is too amazing not to post about and we all know that J&J takes the best pictures! Dion Lee was the headliner at Sydney Fashion Week and it was a huge hit! The collection was entitled "Facade" - a mixture of that which is controlled and that which is subconscious. The designs, therefore, emulate a certain ebb and flow that wrap around the body purposefully. It's tailored with movement and it's lovely - certainly feminine and chic but also has somewhat of a whimsical feeling. I particularly love the rorschach inkblot prints. Fabulous!

Francois Robert's Bone Art

This collection of Bone Art by Francois Robert, entitled "Stop the Violence" metaphorically symbolizes the common themes of war and religion via the use of bones that create the unmistakable shapes of familiar weapons and religious symbols. White on black, it's that simple and yet that telling.

B. B. Homemaker

Sasha Fierce to Honey B and now to B. B. Homemaker! Beyonce is definitely into multiple personality disorder! Either way, the 50s inspired styling in this video is DOPE. Also the song of the day.

NYPDomination

Welcome to NYC, where our cops are BUFF.
These are two brawny bad ass police officers standing on patrol outside the courthouse where suspect Faisal Shahzad is on trial for attempted bombing in Times Square last week.
I'd be scared!

Up There

Up There is a short film by Malcom Murray about the lost (or slowly getting there at least...) art of painted advertisements (rather than vinyl posters) and the amazingly talented and patient painters of Sky High Murals that make them happen. The video (below) is short and direct, with some inspirational music to boot. Personally, this is something I had very little knowledge about - it's nice to see it a bit more in depth. Good stuff.

Song of the day: the music in the video - emo yet relaxing.

Sølve Sundsbø x Numéro #113

Sølve Sundsbø photographed Dree Hemingway for the May 2010 issue of Numéro
and it is highly reminiscent of that Alexander McQueen pattern I posted about a couple weeks ago.
The photos are beautiful - the smoke almost looks like paint when it has been poured into water.
