Shin Guards

Could shin guards be the new trend? Rhianna wore the KTZ for Kokon to Zai shin guards for the Super Bowl and there are so many other options. I'm not saying I'm heading to my local Model's anytime soon to pick up some soccer gear, but this is certainly quite the particular style. I guess someone's gotta do it. I also sort of recall Jay making some for his battle against Mila on Project Runway - they were surprisingly very cool and Michael Kors approved, so you know it's good. It's also sort of awesome because Romans used to do it and they totally kicked ass but I'm not sure Paris Hilton really kicks ass. Ever. So, yeah. I'm into it only if you go all the way with the outfit and work it (or if you wear Lucette's embellished stockings, pictured below - LOVE). Katerina Graham with shin guards and a super girly mini dress? Not so much. I need to see these paired with more outfits!

ARMOR

Ok, seriously though, I need one of everything! This is Armor - chain art for the body. First off, the name is bad-ass - I mean, come on! Armor? It sounds awesome even if you have no idea what it is! It's made by Sandee Shin and is described as "an arsenal of high fashion jewelry that dances between understated minimalism and the highly conceptual edge of fashion." Well, it's dancing alright! Dancing right into my heart! ha!
Love!

Hi-Yah! Chanel's Samurai

"In a salute to luxury brand Chanel, artist Tetsuya Noguchi has created some concept samurai armor suits designed to appeal to the fashion-conscious warrior. Made from resin, cashew lacquer, cloth and glass, the exquisitely crafted protective suits sport the iconic double-C logo, allowing the wearer to flaunt his superior social status while crushing the enemy on the battlefield." Well, I'd say! This is how you do your thang on the battlefield. I wouldn't mind going to or coming home from battle in this get up. Beauty is pain, right? Or at least it protects you from pain in this case.

I really love all the brute-force fashion we've been getting lately - spikes, studs, full on armor. Haute-weaponry now comes styled with monograms and stilettos!

Unkle Karl must be proud!
