Akiko Ikeuchi

Sorry for my delay in posting, I've been distracted by the phenomenal weather that's been given to us here in Paris. Speaking of phenomenal, check out the beautifully delicate work by Akiko Ikeuchi, Japanese graduate of the University of Fine Arts in Tokyo. DOPE.

DoCoMo

AWESOME. Way to go Drill, Inc! An incredibly intricate, xylophone-like version of Bach's Cantata 147 promoting Japanese telephone company DoCoMo's new wooden cell. Amazing.

Dragon 76

Here's a short video by Junobo (yes, the paint supply store) for Dragon 76/Japan. He was born in Shiga, Japan, and currently lives in Yokohama. This video is a presentation of his artistic and creative style, which I admire most profoundly. Soft, delicate and precisely placed waves of color combined with thicker, underlying masses for a base create a wonderful palette of textures and depth. Wonderful!

Banal Chic Bizarre

Banal Chic Bizarre A/W 2010 collection, shown at Tanaka Chiyo Fashion College on March 31st, 2010 in Tokyo, Japan.

Yeah, it's weird but I somehow love the raw, slightly military quality it has - and the eye makeup is superbly simple and fantastic at the same time.
