Chanel Cruise 2010

Here are some of my favorite looks from today's Chanel Cruise 2010 show - Merchant of Venice. There's a mix of early 1900's silhouettes with 30s hair and Byzantine details, which are all subtly beautiful but my all time favorite part of the show? The shoes! They're fabulous.

Watch the show with some fabulously dramatic music here.

Shin Guards

Could shin guards be the new trend? Rhianna wore the KTZ for Kokon to Zai shin guards for the Super Bowl and there are so many other options. I'm not saying I'm heading to my local Model's anytime soon to pick up some soccer gear, but this is certainly quite the particular style. I guess someone's gotta do it. I also sort of recall Jay making some for his battle against Mila on Project Runway - they were surprisingly very cool and Michael Kors approved, so you know it's good. It's also sort of awesome because Romans used to do it and they totally kicked ass but I'm not sure Paris Hilton really kicks ass. Ever. So, yeah. I'm into it only if you go all the way with the outfit and work it (or if you wear Lucette's embellished stockings, pictured below - LOVE). Katerina Graham with shin guards and a super girly mini dress? Not so much. I need to see these paired with more outfits!

Light Rhapsody

Ok, I think this is cool - the music goes so perfectly with the video.

It's a new way of looking at light mapping - this time by Marc Czerwiec and Vivien Testard, freaturing Julia Swell.

Lovely (and also the song of the day).

NYCentral Perks

Central Park when it gets nice and hot outside. Lots of people is a pro and a con at the same time because people watching is one of my favorite past times but searching for a place to lounge for an hour isn't (although New Yorkers seem pretty good at park sharing)!

It's good too see unity - some groups bring frisbees, others bring hookahs, some couples picnic together romantically, some singles sunbathe with a book. Either way, it's sunny so grab an ice cream and a towel and head to Central Park!

Painted Berlin

Some crazy amazing cyclists in Berlin decided to paint Rosenthaler Platz (the creative center of the city) with love and color last week! They're calling it the "massive paint attack" - cyclists ride through the streets pouring paint on the roads in front of the cars that are waiting (probably anxiously, since they're watching the cyclists and hoping their tires won't be ruined!) for the lights to turn green. The wheels become the paintbrushes as traffic resumes! Great idea!

Song of the day: Zoot Woman - It's Automatic (I. LOVE. THIS. SONG.)
