It's a BUTT SLED

"What the HELL are you talking about?!" You say?

These are the Pull on Snow Shorts, by Orvis (found HERE), which is essentially an outfit jam-packed with non-removable fun.

PRO: Your SLED is already attached to your DERRIERE, so you can go sledding without having to carry around that pesky, heavy sled.

CON: You look like an upside down ninja turtle. Which, now that I think of it, it definitely NOT a con; maybe a better con is the fact that your legs have to be elevated the whole time you're sledding, but then again, this is probably a good thing seeing as it would result in one hell of an ab workout.

PRO: It comes in small kids, big kids (a.k.a. American kids) and adult sizes and is only $35.

CON: You can't really sled down with a friend, which could potentially be good because they just drag down your speed and momentum anyway.

Look at these kids having a grand old time!

SANTACON[s little children into thinking they are getting way more presents than usual]

Santacon is a "not-for-profit, non-political, non-religious & non-logical Santa Claus convention, attended for absolutely no reason." (thank you, SantaCon NYC [highly entertaining] website) A.k.a, it's a day where drunken buffoonery, belligerent idiots and obnoxious chanting are all acceptable as long as you look like Santee-Claus (this also includes racy Mrs. Clauses and the odd elf, Jesus, Mary and reindeer).

It happens once a year and it's actually pretty fun to watch - also, they give free candy! Not that I took any, but the thought was there at least.

There are SantaCons all over the world (seriously, it's an international thing) spreading the holiday cheer by parading around the streets and bars and parks (Washington Park was a mess around 10pm Saturday, December 12th, 2009) and singing dirty Christmas carols with not-so-conventional lyrics that are witty to say the least (RE: check out the website to see some of the aforementioned songs). I hear they also try to collect food for the homeless, which is charitable - I just hope it includes more than candy canes.

Sad yet funny

Ah, evolution and survival of the fittest. A huge thank you to Herbert Spencer and Charles Darwin, for their contributions to theories about the world's biological economy. This charming yet somehow cheerless cartoon is from The Chive, one of the many procrastination blogs in my "Blogs" bookmark folder. Seriously though, I love cartoons like this that are meant to be read "backwards", if you catch my meaning; it creates a particular type of suspense that is lighthearted and eases the tension of the harsh reality of the punch line. Also, it definitely shows how respectful we've been to John T. Rex and his lovely wife, June.

WAKE UP PEOPLE, SAVE THE DINOSAURS.

Craftacular

Sounds like something Count Chocula would say in a deep, skeevy voice over a symphony of thunder and malicious laughter.

The Bust Holiday Craftacular, however, is not an event you will find in Transylvania or any other dracula-ridden place. Craftacular is a huge room filled with tables full of crafty trinkets, clothing, postcards, vintage jewelry, beautiful jewelry, fabulous jewelry, bad-ass jewelry and so much more. (Woah, jewelry is one of those words that gets really weird when you say it too many times - it's also oddly difficult to type). The Craftacular takes place at the Metropolitan Pavillion at 125 W. 18th in NYC once a year and I am more than glad I was able to get to it this year. There were over 200 vendors selling homemade pieces and it was absolutely wonderful.

Also, I don't have any photos of their clothes, unfortunately, but it's definitely worth checking out Photosynthesis - lots of fun tees, totes and vintage clothing with cute hearts that are all super soft (Alternative Apparel shirts), hand-printed, making them unique even if they have the same design.

I'm sad Craftacular only happens once a year, but I'm so happy I made it- on a whim nonetheless!

Another Vain DIY project (pt. 5)

I'm not going to lie but this photo-shoot stuff is kind of fun. That's my inner-Leo peeking out I'm sure. Or maybe it's my deep inner desire to BECOME THE NEXT POP SUPERSTAR. The looking through the pictures and editing the colors (ok, Kevin Colombu did that part) and seeing something I made in artistic and perfectly framed images is also kind of fun. Not so fun is clicking "publish post". I guess I find it too vain to have all these pictures of myself but, in my defense, these clothes are mine and therefore fit my being the way I like them to be fit. I guess what I'll have to do is start making clothes and shtuff to fit others so that I can make them the models! Who's in? :)

Asian-inspired appliqué: again, one of those beads-n-stuff places in NYC fashion district (I'm going to guess somewhere around 37th & 7th or so - think 5 block radius) - it's actually a two-part piece that connects in the middle, meant to be a variation of a button, if you see what I mean (click on pictures to enlarge) - $8.

Kind of overtly racy, kind of beautiful

Ok, scratch that. Kind of way too much, kind of can't stop watching.

This is Lindsay's latest photo shoot edited into this [s]exposed video.

The très risqué shoot by Yu Tsai for Milan's MUSE magazine channels Kate Moss from the 90s and was apparently inspired by the top [shop] model's relationship with Johnny Depp. She says she was comfortable with the nudity "as long as it had artistic integrity" because she "wan[ts to] make this iconic". Talk about a career boobster, i mean BOOSTER.

Found this on Gizmodo. Click on it and make it bigger. Yes, I'm a geek. Total geek. Über-geek. With an umlaut - a giant one apparently because apple+c in combination with the search for a regular capitalized umlauted (?) "u" doesn't work properly in Google. 

But I thought this was an interesting visual interpretation of the magnitude of the interwebz so I wanted to share it with you. Aw, how nice am I? Ok, seriously speaking though, it's crazy - I could be in the New York Times! Well, not really, but sort of. Metaphorically, at least.
