THEY, an ad agency from Holland, just came out with their own champagne Zarb just in time for New Year's celebrations! Funky and fun!
Checked out the expo this crazy Christmas weekend. We were lucky to get in right before the afternoon rush of tourists, bored post-Christmas families and bored non-Christmas families. (The line to the Monet expo wasn't quite as friendly: 2 and a half hour wait = no go). The jewels were phenomenal - I particularly enjoyed Liz Taylor's personal collection. Sofia Loren contributed some sparkle to the show as well. The most amazing part was the extent of the expo. The Grand Palais isn't called "Grand" for nothing and I wasn't expecting the expo to take up so much of it! Sublime!

Last night was an evening full of great live music - Cody Chesnutt live at La Bellevilloise in Paris. The band was great (14 musicians were present onstage!), the sound was great, Cody was amazing. A man of great stature, he walked onto the stage and immediately went for the crowd, shaking hands, greeting the fans. He even invited married couples onstage for a song about commitments. The best part was that he only did new songs (perhaps to dissuade the local Parisians from singing along with a bad accent? Doubtful but hilarious.) Talking to the band afterwords was a breath of fresh air, as well. Everyone seems so chill, family-like, even though this was apparently only their sixth performance as an ensemble. Native Floridians, they definitely brought some heat to an otherwise chilly, snowy and slushy Parisian night. Dope!

Megan Geckler installation by Wexner Center for the Arts - an interesting installation entitled "spread the ashes of the colors" which is being presented in Ohio. Tres colorful, tres cool! Great music by Arcade Fire.

I know the video is slightly difficult to watch with its lack of sturdiness and excess of volume, but the concept within is wonderful. Someone had to invent it! The endless tag - Ariel Schlesinger and Aram Bartholl are the creators of the Looptaggr, which allows for a continuous tag via a stencil, some spray paint and the wheel-like technology that we are so used to already. Very cool.

The official TRON movie headphones. Yours for $350 (purchase includes a copy of the TRON: LEGACY soundtrack). Slightly steep, but I guess that's the price for these things nowadays.
